Whether companies, associations, or governments, all entities periodically enter a process of renewal: a merger, a rejuvenation within the board, expansion of activities or tapping into a new sector, adjustments within the public domain, a generational change within a company, ...

A proactive approach to create the necessary support base for change can prevent many problems, annoyance, wasted time and possibly even legal disputes. What are the expectations and prejudices regarding the intended changes? Why is change necessary? What positives may the proposed changes offer to the stakeholders involved? What do the stakeholders absolutely want to keep from the past? What can be improved? How can this then be realised in the new project? What are the complaints and expectations of the various stakeholders? ... In this context a mediator can also work to prevent communication breakdowns and allow all interests to come to the surface, facilitate the search for synergies and help to create a new situation that has the broadest possible support.

The likelihood of serious disputes arising as a result of implementing the changes can be significantly reduced and even, possibly, eliminated completely.
